Safe Routes to School National Partnership

The SRAM Cycling Fund supports the Safe Routes to School National Partnership's legislative presence in Washington, DC in the form of their Policy Manager, Margo Pedroso. Having a full-time policy staff in Washington, DC ensures that the Partnership is able to build important relationships with Members of Congress and their staff in support of Safe Routes to School and bicycling programs in Congress. In addition, it allows the Partnership to actively participate in health and transportation coalitions working on the economic stimulus bill (now law), the forthcoming transportation bill and climate legislation.

The Safe Routes to School National Partnership has worked hard to ensure that Safe Routes to School is well-positioned for the next transportation bill. In addition, they continue to cultivate other funding and policy opportunities through issues like climate, childhood obesity, and jobs bills.
